Assessment
Each module is assessed by
both assignments and examinations. Assignments are developmental, and whilst
students are required to complete the assignments before they may sit the
examination for the module, the marks achieved in the assignment do not count
towards the final module grade.
Assignments:
Each
module has a number of developmental assignments which are set by the Centre,
covering a minimum of 10 hours. Candidates must complete all assignments for
a module before taking the examination for the module. The assignments will
be included in the moderation process conducted by NCC Education. Marks achieved
in the assignments do not count towards the module grade.
Global
Examinations:
Each
module is assessed by a written Global Examination, which is 3 hours long
and counts for 100% of the module grade. The Global Examination is set by
NCC Education, taken under NCC Education regulations, marked by NCC Education
and moderated by NCC Education. Global examinations are closed book. They
take place four times per year on days specified by NCC Education. NCC Education
publishes the examination timetable at least one year in advance. After each
examination cycle, a Moderation Report is issued by NCC Education Academic
Standards on behalf of the Awards Panel. The examination paper and marking
scheme are distributed separately after each examination cycle.
